On January 2nd, 2008, Ruud, Ineke (from Holland) and Anne Buch (from Denmark) travelled by high speed train to Cologne
(Germany), for the New Years concert. Gemma and Nand (from Belgium) joined us too.

On January 11th 2008 André appeared in the German talk show "Tietjen and Dibaba" as broadcast by the NDR. He looks back on the Toronto concerts and gives a violin lesson to one of the other guests in the

Benny Neijman unfortunately has left us.
Benny Neijman was a well known and popular Dutch singer.
André fans learned to know him when he
performed with André and the JSO on the
first Vrijthof concert in 2005.

On February 13th, 2008 André appeared on the Belgium TV in the late night talk show "De Laatste Show" (The Last Show).

On Thursday March 13, 2008 there was a small item on André in the daily gossip
program "Boulevard", as broadcast by the Dutch RTL4.
March 20th 2008: two interviews on one day!! First André appeared in the Belgian TV program "De Rode Loper" (the Red
Carpet), presented by Katja Retsin.
Later on that day André and Pierre appeared in "De Wereld Draait Door"
(DWDD) on the Dutch TV. This show is presented by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.

On March 15th, 2008 we visited theater Carré in Amsterdam to see André Rieu appearing as the special guest in Ivo Niehe's theater show. Selections of this short 1 hour performance and a lengthy interview with André were shown in the "TV SHOW presented by the same Ivo Niehe.

Last year André Rieu and the JSO recorded the Wonderland DVD in the fairytale park "The Efteling" in The Netherlands. In the past months we received some questions about this park. For those who are interested, we have created a walk through the park, passing all the places you can see in the DVD.

On Thursday July 3rd, André surprised us with free entrance for the dress rehearsal. It was fun to see him at work. All intros to the various pieces were done in German. The concert was recorded by the German television (ZDF) and during the real concerts he wanted to do the intros in Maastricht dialect. Sometimes only the first few notes of a piece were played ("you have not paid for this concert" he said).

On October 23, 2008 he participated in the talk show of Johannes B. Kerner and on October 27, 2008 André and the JSO appeared in the Carmen Nebel show.
Both programs were broadcast by the German TV channel ZDF.

Nov./Dec. 2008 we spent our holiday in Australia. Among visiting fan friends, we attended two concerts in Sydney and afterwards we toured for two weeks with a campervan from Sydney to Melbourne.
