On February 5th 2015, André Rieu has received the highest award of the Tempeleers (the Carnival Committee of Maastricht). “’T Joonk Leech” (The young Light) is awarded to people who support and promote Maastricht’s culture and carnival in a unique way. André Rieu is the first person who has been nominated to this award in recognition of his special musical and cultural achievements.
